Guangdong water supply restored

Tens of thousands in Guangdong have running water again after it was cut for more than a week following a toxic spill, state media reported. Normal delivery was restored Sunday at the Nanhua Waterworks, near Yingde, a city of one million residents. The spill from a state-owned smelting works caused residents along the Beijiang River to go without tap water after cadmium, which can cause neurological disorders and cancer, was released.
