The director of Shenzhen People's Hospital was suspended after allegations of inaccurate billing, the South China Morning Post reported. The allegations first surfaced on a China Central Television (CCTV) report and come a year after the hospital was investigated for charging a dead patient about US$150,000. The Shenzhen Health Bureau suspended director Zho Hanxin, one senior doctor and one senior nurse and planned to investigate further. CCTV said the hospital had overcharged the patient - including charging a 27-hour service fee after a one-day stay. The hospital apologized and blamed "computer glitches" for the overcharges.
