Sri Lankan leader visits China

Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapakse arrived in China this week with a 266-member delegation for a week-long state visit, AFP reported. Rajapakse is in China to mark 50 years of diplomatic ties between the countries and will meet President Hu Jintao and other top officials. The president also brought along a five-year-old male elephant as well as a replica of a statue of Buddha as gifts and is traveling with representatives of Sri Lanka's private sector to create opportunities for business in China.
