Rules to improve police officers' image were released Wednesday, AFP reported. Under the revised regulations from the Ministry of Public Security, officers could face the sack for dying their hair unusual colors, wearing jewelry or smoking on duty. They are instructed to avoid bars and clubs and must not wear their caps at a lopsided angle. For women, fingernail painting is prohibited and hair must not exceed shoulder length while men are not allowed to grow facial hair or shave their heads. "Minor offenders will be lectured and asked to mend their ways," said a statement posted on the ministry's website. "Those who repeatedly break the rules or whose behavior has a detrimental impact could be sacked."
