"Queen employee" returns to TCL

TCL has appointed Wu Shihong, who in the late 1990s was known as the "Queen employee" in the IT industry in China, as its independent non-executive board member, Economic Observer reported (in Chinese). Wu had worked for TCL in 1999 as vice president, leaving unexpectedly in 2002. She gained a reputation as something of a legend in Chinese business circles in her experience at TCL as well as at Microsoft China, where she served as managing director. TCL declined to disclose Wu's salary.
