Paulson to visit China next week

US Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson will meet with President Hu Jintao on July 31 to discuss the Strategic Economic Dialogue, a continuation from the first discussion last December and May of this year, AP reported. The talks will likely focus on currency valuation, as US lawmakers have grown increasingly unhappy with the country's trade deficit with China, which has increased to US$233 billion last year. The deficit is the largest recorded, and represents one-third of the US total deficit with the rest of the world.
