Westinghouse, a subsidiary of Toshiba Corp, inked a multibillion-dollar contract with China to build four nuclear power plants in 2009, to be completed and operable from 2013-2015, Bloomberg reported. The details of the contract were not disclosed, but the agreement specified the use of Westinghouse's reactor technology. China currently has 11 nuclear reactors in operation, and is expected to build as many as 32 nuclear power plants by 2020 in an effort reduce its reliance on imported oil.
