Retired workers to receive higher pensions

Retired Workers in China will see increased pensions by the end of this month, the Ministry of Labour and Social Security (MLSS) announced Tuesday, according to China Youth Daily (in Chinese). An official from the ministry said pensions for retirees across China have increased by US$10.6 per month since July, and citizens who used to be senior scientific and technical staff, retired earlier or received lower pensions than others will see a US$15.8 increase per month. China will continue to raise pensions over the next three years, which will cost US$5.3 billion each year, the newspaper said.
