Ministry: Blue-ear pig disease infections halved

The Ministry of Agriculture reported that the number of pigs infected with blue-ear disease dropped 51.5% in July compared to the previous month, state media reported. Some 47,000 pigs had the disease in July, and 35.9%, or 13,000, had died. "The epidemic across the country has been under much control," a ministry spokesperson said. The government said it had administered 314 million milliliters of vaccine to over 100 million pigs by August 22.
