Ministries collaborate on network safety

Eight state ministries, including the Ministry of Information Industry and the Ministry of Public Security, have announced they will promote the adoption of network security legislation to prevent hacker programs such as trojan viruses, Economic Observer reported (in Chinese). According figures released by market research firm iResearch, third-party internet transactions reached US$2 billion in the first quarter of the year, nearly four times the level last year, voices call for well protection for the network safety increased. Earlier this week Premier Wen Jiabao pledged to strengthen anti-hacker enforcement during German Chancellor Angela Merkel's visit to China.
