The State Grain Administration announced Tuesday that it will distribute 200,000 metric tons edible oil from national reserves to help stabilize food prices during Mid-Autumn Festival and weeklong National Day holiday, Xinhua reported (in Chinese). The released oil will be sold on the Anhui Grain Wholesale Exchange on Friday. This undersold by the Ministry of Grain is in light of the recent circular jointly issued by several central ministries, including the National Development and Research Commission, urging local authorities to make an effort to control price increases and ensure product supply to stem inflation.
