The Ministry of Education announced Thursday that it will work with employment officials to investigate the illegal employment of minors, following reports that agencies and individuals are luring minors to work part-time jobs and internships, state media reported. The ministry bans students from interning during their first year in vocational school, and warned these schools not to violate the regulation. Chinese law bans minors under the age of 16 from working. Employers who violate the law can be fined and have their business licenses withdrawn.
