China launches first textile market index

The Ministry of Commerce has launched China's first textile index system, Xinhua reported (in Chinese). The system includes a price index, business index, export index and an order index. The price index will be released every Monday, while the business index and the export index will be available every month. "The system is expected to provide a more complete, accurate and the latest market information for textile producers, purchasers and operators at home and abroad," said assistant minister of commerce Huang Hai.
