State Grid Corp announced on Wednesday that all of the power transmission and transformation projects on the Three Gorges Dam are expected to be complete by the end of 2007, Xinhua reported (in Chinese). The various projects have been under construction for 10 years in all, and have transmitted over 197 billion kWh of electricity across the country since the Three Gorges hydropower plant began operating in 2003. The projects which connect directly with the central China, east China, south China and northeast China grids, have achieved optimized allocation of resources between the regions, said an unnamed State Grid executive.
