China's central bank said it will expand its current anti-money-laundering campaign to additional sectors, including securities, insurance, real estate, legal services and the lottery, state media reported. People's Bank Of China (PBOC) governor Zhou Xiaochuan said more needs to be done to strengthen the new money-laundering law, which took effect on January 1. China is expected to revise the articles on money laundering and terrorism financing in its criminal law in the near future in order to increase efficiency of investigation and prosecution of these cases. Beijing will coordinate with the financial information systems of other countries in order to prevent capital from illegally leaving the country, according to a statement by the PBOC.
