China will seek "comprehensive cooperation" with the US to improve energy efficiency as part of the two countries' twice-yearly economic meeting currently underway in Beijing, AFP reported. Ma Kai, head of the National Development and Reform Commission, said seeking out the assitance of the US's "mature experice" in improving the efficency of burning coal would be particularly important. In September, the two countries signed an initial memorandum of understanding to increase China's energy efficency in the industrial sector.
