Baidu.com CFO dies in accident

Baidu.com, China's leading search engine service provider, confirmed that its chief financial officer, Wang Zhansheng (Shawn Wang), died of accidental causes on December 27 during his vacation, Chinese Securities News reported (in Chinese). Baidu has not yet named his successor. Wang established a strong financial, legal and human resources systems at Baidu and so his sudden death will not have an significant impact company operations, said JP Morgan analyst Dick Wei in an investor report. Baidu's NASDAQ share price fell 2.27% on Monday to close at US$389.80.
