China Mobile, the world's largest mobile operator, is expected to announce its support on Wednesday of wireless broadband standard, Long Term Evolution (LTE), the Financial Times reported. China Mobile's support, along with Vodafone and Verizon, make LTE the likely candidate to become the world's leading 4G technology, which allows faster web services on mobile phones, over rival technologies such as WiMax or Ultra Mobile Broadband. People familiar with the situation also noted that it was still unclear whether China Mobile would also support a distinct Chinese 4G technology if one arose.
