Peru and China have agreed on a more than fourfold increase in trade between the two countries by 2015, ahead of a planned free trade deal in November, AP reported. Trade between China and Peru reached US$5.3 billion in 2007. Peruvian President Alan Garcia said after a visit to China that the preliminary agreement includes plans to boost Peruvian exports to China by five times to US$15 billion by 2015, with Chinese exports to Peru increasing four-fold to US$12 billion. He provided no details on tariff reductions. Chinese investment in Peru could grow to US$10 billion by 2015, from less than US$2 billion today.
