NDRC allows Bright Dairy to raise milk prices
28 March 2008
China's National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) has permitted Hebei-based Bright Dairy & Food to raise milk prices, Reuters reported. The approval is the first since the NDRC required all major producers of daily necessities to receive central government permission to raise prices in January, in an effort to curb inflation. Bright Dairy, China's third-largest dairy producer behind Mengniu Dairy and Yili, said it expected to raise prices of fresh and UHT milk by 14% in certain regions.
