Whirlpool, Hisense form JV

Whirlpool and Chinese conglomerate Hisense announced that they have formed a joint venture in China, AFP reported. The 50-50 joint venture between Whirlpool and electronics and information industry unit Hisense-Kelon Electrical Holdings was formed to deliver home appliances to China's consumer market, the two companies said in a statement. Refrigerators and washing machines will be among the home appliances produced by the joint venture. Whirlpool and Hisense will share research, technology, procurement and development resources, according to the report. Hisense is the main investor in Hisense-Kelon Electrical Holdings.
