May 29, 2008

A survey of the world's biggest brands found that appliance and electronics maker Haier had the best reputation of any Chinese brand internationally, the South China Morning Post reported. Haier ranked 13th overall and second in China behind Nokia on the list, released by the Reputation Institute, a US-based research firm. Haier, which is headquartered in Qingdao, is among the bidders for General Electric's appliance unit. Other prominent bidders include Korea's LG and Electrolux from Sweden.
