NBS chief to head State Council research office

The director of China's National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) will take over as the head of the State Council's research office, the Wall Street Journal reported. Xie Fuzhan will take the place of Wei Liqun in his new job, where he will be responsible for the premier's annual work report, which outlines plans and suggestions for economic and social policies. It is unknown when Xie will begin his new role, or if he will continue to hold his current position.
