EU: China toy safety has improved

An independent report commissioned by the EU found that China has improved supervision of its toy industry following a spate of product-safety scandals last year involving Chinese-made toys, Reuters reported. The report named smaller companies, including European importers and Chinese manufacturers, as the "weak links" in the supply chain. European Consumer Affairs Commissioner Meglena Kuneva said she would present the report's recommendations to Chinese authorities during a visit this month.
