Officials from the Group of Eight industrialized countries will meet with the head of China's State Energy Bureau, as well as officials from Korea and India, in Aomori, Japan to discuss energy conservation, Bloomberg reported. The talks will be aimed at getting commitments from China and India to monitor cuts in energy use. Ministers at the meeting will discuss exchanging alternative energy technologies to encourage the countries and setting national and industry targets for cutting energy consumption under the International Partnership for Energy Efficiency Cooperation, a body the G-8 plans to create this year.
