Seventh Hyatt for China on the Bund

July 27th, 2007

Hyatt will officially open its seventh hotel, Hyatt on the Bund in Shanghai in early October and expects to receive a strong number of Middle East guests.

The hotel will be at the northern end of the Bund and to maximize its location on the western banks of the Huangpu River, the hotel has been angled so that all rooms will have a view of either the architecture down the Bund or Pudong across the river.

Thierry Bertin, Area Director of Marketing – Middle East, Hyatt International Hotels and Resorts, said, ‘Shanghai is a perfect getaway for Middle East holiday makers. Hyatt on the Bund offers Middle East travelers a chance to experience luxury and comfort while discovering the city’s rich cultural attractions. Its location also makes it very accessible for the discerning Middle East traveler.’

There will be 631 guest rooms, including 52 suites with all the goodies like rotating flat-screen TVs, DVD players and high-speed wired and wireless broadband Internet access.

The highlight of the rooms, we are assured, will be the bathroom which will be an open design. The open bathrooms will feature standalone rain showers and eye-catching mother-of-pearl panels. For the diffident, the bathrooms can be closed off.

This is very much a MICE hotel with 1,859 square meters (20,064 square feet), dedicated to meeting and function facilities and able to cater to over 1,000 people.

This will be the seventh Hyatt hotel to open in Mainland China, following Grand Hyatt Beijing, Grand Hyatt Shanghai, Hyatt Regency Tianjin, Hyatt Regency Xian, Hyatt Regency Hangzhou and Hyatt Regency Dongguan. Twelve more Hyatt hotels are scheduled to open in China in the next few years. Our illustration is of a room in the Hyatt in Pudong. Gives you an idea of the luxury level of Hyatt Hotels.
