Jinling ties up with Regal Hotels

Signing Ceremony 1Jinling Hotels & Resorts has signed an alliance with Regal Hotels International and agreed to cooperate in a number of different areas including F&B, training and corporate culture. 

Jinling’s President Frank Hou said, ‘Expanding hotel chain properties, increasing brand name recognition, making full use of shared resources and forming cooperation that hold value are the ideal ways for Chinese hotels to succeed’. 

Regal Hotels International (RHI) is a Hong Kong-based hotel chain where it currently has five properties. In the mainland it operates Regal International East Asia Hotel and Regal Shanghai East Asia Hotel. (Two different properties but both in Shanghai).

Jinling partners with another Chinese airline

Ceremony 1Jinling Hotels & Resorts has formed an alliance with China Southern Airlines. Members of the airline’s Sky Pearl Club can earn mileage points when they stay at Jinling Hotels and Jin’s Inn.

China Southern is the fourth airline to partner with Jinling following Air China, China Eastern and Hainan Airlines.

Jinling Hotel to open in Kunshan

Jinling KunshanJinling Hotels & Resorts is scheduled to open another property, in the city of Kunshan in 2009. The five-star Jinling Grand Hotel Kunshan will have 300 guestrooms, a 1,000-square meter-ballroom and several entertainment facilities.

Kunshan in Jiangsu province has become an important business and industrial center in the Yangtze River Delta and is located between Shanghai and Suzhou.

Jin’s Inn — the cheaper lesser-starred chain of Jinling Hotels & Resorts — also opened another site at the end of November. Jin’s Inn Gulou Nanjing is the ninth property in the budget hotel chain.

Jinling uses ‘business technology’ at its hotels

Jinling HotelFor the second year in a row, Jinling Hotels & Resorts has been listed in the ‘China Business Technology Top 100′, published by IT magazine InformationWeek. It was ranked No.20.

When asked in which ways does it use ‘business technology’, Jinling cited its central reservation system which allows it to connect to travel agencies and websites worldwide. (see previous post ‘Jinling joins up with Pegasus’ from January 25, 2007).

It also said it has upgraded its website and carried out ‘new policies to control IT costs efficiently’. It was one of only two Chinese corporations from China’s hospitality sector to be included in the list.

Jinling currently manages over 40 hotels and resorts in China.

Jinling listed in ‘Giants 300′ for 2007

HOTELS MagazineHOTELS Magazine has ranked the world’s largest 300 hotel brands of 2007 in the ‘Giants 300′ list.

No.1 - InterContinental Hotels Group (556,246 hotel rooms)
No.2 - Wyndham Hotel Group (543,234 rooms)
No.3 - Marriott International (513,832 rooms)

China’s Jinling Hotels & Resorts ranked No. 73 with 43 hotels and 10,318 rooms (according to figures from 2006).

HOTELS is the official publication of the International Hotel & Restaurant Association and covers the hospitality industry in 170 countries.

‘Soft Power’ essential for hotel industry

Tang Wenjian’Soft power’ is becoming increasingly more important to the service industry, according to Tang Wenjian, Chairman of Jinling Holdings Ltd (pictured right). A company’s brand name, marketing capability, management standards and company culture are essential for the hotel industry to develop in today’s market, said Tang.

He was speaking at a forum for the China Hotel Grouplization Development 2007 at Jinling Hotel Nanjing, where Jinling Hotels & Resorts was included in the ranking of the top 30 Chinese hotel brands by the China Tourist Hotels Association.

‘Hotel managment can develop more professionally, soundly and scale new corporate heights based on utilizing “Soft Power” more effectively,’ he said. ‘This is required within centralized divisions and throughout large-scale operations of the hospitality industry’.

Jinling opens in Yancheng

Yidu Jinling 1Jinling Hotels & Resorts has opened another hotel, this time near the seaside city of Yancheng in Jiangsu province. Yidu Jinling Grand Hotel Yancheng is the first five-star hotel in the city and has 346 guest rooms and suites.

In April this year, the hotel group was named as China’s most popular domestic hotel brand of 2007 at the 4th Golden Pillow Awards, held by 21st Century Business Herald in Shanghai.

Jinling enters Shanghai stock exchange

Shanghai stock exchangeOn April 6, Jinling Hotels entered Shanghai’s stock exchange to become the first listed hotel in Jiangsu’s hospitality industry and the 100th listed company in Jiangsu province.

The opening price was RMB8.50 which quickly rose to RMB12.00 within ten minutes. The closing price for the first day was RMB13.37.

Zheng Weiguo, Vice Governor of Jiangsu province, said, ‘Jinling Hotel is a leading corporation in Jiangsu, as well as the Chinese hospitality industry. It has maintained a superior performance and image for more than 20 years’. 

‘Jinling has been a witness to the development of the Chinese hospitality industry growth,’ commented Li Jianwei, Chairman of Jinling Hotels. She said it has built up a famous brand name blending Chinese Eastern style with international standards’.

Jinling Hotels opens in Zhenjiang

Jinling Runyang 1Jinling Hotels & Resorts have opened up in Zhenjiang, Jiangsu province. The Jinling Runyang Bridge Hotel opened in March and is situated next to the Runyuan Bridge, the longest bridge in China and third longest in the world (total length 35.66km). It’s made up of two bridges that link Zhenjiang on the south bank of the river and Yangzhou city on the north.

The hotel is part of the Runyang Bridge Development Corporation and has river and bridge view rooms, as well as separate villas. Conference and banquet facilities also included.

Jinling Hotel ranks in technology awards

Nanjing Jinling HotelJinling Hotel was ranked No.48 at the 2006 China Business Technology Top 100 awards. The awards focused on how Chinese companies use technology in their businesses and they covered more than 6,000 corporations across 26 industries.

Only one of the two corporations from the hospitality industry to be included in the awards, Jinling uses high-tech systems in hotel service and management, such as the CSR (central reservation system). The hotel group currently manages over 40 hotels and resorts across China.
