Dalian Hi-Tech Industrial Zone

industrial zone DalianHaving started a section high-tech industrial zones it is as if you have wandered into a large parallel universe.

Take for example Dalian Hi-Tech Industrial Zone which was one of the first state-level hi-tech zones approved by the state council in March 1991.

The figures boggle the mind. It covers an area of 24.6 square kilometers, comprising Qixianlin Industrial Base, No.5 Highway Industrial Area, Youjiacun Industrial Base, Huanghelu Science plaza plus some other sections.

During its development,the Zone always focused on the goal of developing and industrializing high technology.

There are about 1,700 enterprises, 380 of which involving foreign elements, and 360 are recognized as hi-tech inside the Zone.

The Zone has established close relations with more than 20 countries and regions in world.

And it is expanding. No.5 Highway Industrial Area is 5 km to Dayaowan Container Port, 28 Km to Dalian International Airportand 28 km to the downtown center. A light tram has been planned to run between the downtown center and No.5 Highway Industrial Area.

Then on South Lushun Road in the southwestern part of Dalian, Qixianling Industrial Base is a key area for the development of hi-tech industries. This base covers an area of 5.68 square kilometers of which nearly three have already been developed.

And on it goes.

For example Dalian Overseas Students Park is for overseas students to set up hi-tech enterprises by themselves or with others. At present there are already 22 enterprises which have been set up by people from the higher levels of university life.

Amazing stuff.

Beijing Tianzhu Airport Industrial Zone

industrial zones beijing 1Some industrial zones are planned to be near airports. This gives them immediate air freight connection to all corners of the world for airfreight suitable goods.

One of the largest and most comprehensive of these zones is Beijing Airport Industrial Zone which is located 1km to the west of the Capital International Airport.

The 101 National Highway runs across it from south to north dividing the Zone into Area A and Area B. Its great advantage is that it is almost in the airport. It is also only 20km from Beijing Railway Station and 30km from Beijing West Railway Station.

The Zone is 15km from Beijing Cargo Railway Station, Shunyi Cargo Railway Station and Zhangxin Cargo Railway Station. It takes 90 minutes drive to Tianjing New Sea Port.

For transportation and logistics then, it could hardly be better placed.

Beijing Airport Industrial Zone was founded in 1994, with a planned area of 6.6km Square. That is an amazing size and showed tremendout faith on the part of the planners.

After near 10 years’ development and construction, a modern high-tech Zone has been formed with IT and modern logistics as the major industries.

The figures, omce again, are mind boggling. There are 284 foreign and domestic enterprises from 18 countries and regions and the total investment has been $2.4 billion.

The Administration Committee of Zone acts, on behalf of the Government, to carry the administrative management on the Zone. Almost everything that is needed to run the bureau is within th zone and that includes departments and branches such as planning bureau, land bureau, construction bureau, urban public engineering bureau, labor bureau, environmental bureau, commercial and industrial bureau, Custom office, fiscal bureau, taxation bureau, police station, bank, telecommunication office and public facilities offices.
The Zone has the advantages of structural system with the project approving power of Municipal level and the administrative power of District level.

For foreign investment below $30 million USD and domestic investment below RMB200 million all the formalities can be finished in the Zone including project setting, approval of contract articles, issuance of business license, approval of construction plan and so on. Total service on the premises.
