[photopress:IT_Li_Yizhong_2.jpg,full,alignright]The setting up of a brand new 'super ministry' was officially announced last week. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology is an amalgamation of 5 ministries that were originally separate entities.
These are the ministries of:

Industry and Information

Communications.

Bringing them together is a move aimed at strengthening overall management, and coordination, as well as pushing forward reforms. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology which will be headed by Li Yizhong, seen here, will also be responsible for the supervision of individual industries, and the drive towards more innovation in technology.
