March 3rd, 2007

Mapletree Investments, a leading real estate company in Singapore, has announced that it will develop a logistics center in Wuxi New District, China with a ground floor area of about 42,000 sq meter on a 6.8-hectare site.

When completed, the development, which consists of three single-storey warehouses with mezzanine offices, will have an investment value of about S$20 million. This is Mapletree’s third in China, after Lingang and Tianjin.

Hiew Yoon Khong, chief executive officer of Mapletree, said the logistics market in China is growing rapidly, fuelled by factors such as the liberalisation of the logistics market in 2005.
