Brazilian plane maker Embraer plans to build a factory in China, the company president confirmed in a newspaper interview reported by Associated Press. Reports from Brazil said that the world's fourth largest commercial aircraft manufacturer would create a joint venture with the Aviation Industry of China in which Embraer would take a 51 per cent stake.

The president said that the new factory would initially produce only aircraft components and that commencement of an aircraft manufacturing facility would depend on how the venture progresses.
