Kingsoft's anti-virus subsidiary Kingsoft Network Technology announced that Chinese internet users' private data might be at risk owing to a security breach in a server operated by Chinese online security software developer Qihoo 360.

Kingsoft has informed the Ministry of Public Security and other authorities, and recommended that Qihoo 360 users change their passwords.

According to a report from Kingsoft Security Center, user names and passwords could be found on multiple websites via web searches conducted on December 30 and 31.

Fu Sheng, CEO of Kingsoft, said that Qihoo 360 had collected records on millions of users in a serious breach of user privacy, as browsing and downloading histories can be used to identify specific users.

Marbridge Consulting reports the server is currently down, and Qihoo 360 has yet to respond to the allegations.
