Chinese cities and companies can compete in a special contest in sustainable growth, which started Friday in Shanghai, Shanghai Daily reported.
The contest, organized by the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences and Xinmin Weekly under the Wenxin-Xinmin United Press Group, will select role models to promote sustainable development in China. Winners will be announced in December. State-owned companies, private enterprises and foreign firms in China with more than 2,000 employees or an annual turnover over 20 billion yuan (US$3.17 billion) can join in the contest, the newspaper reported.
